What are dual deals?

Deals in Zipi can have one of the following types:

  • Listing (sale) → agent was involved with the selling side of the deal
  • Buyer (sale) → agent was involved with the buying side of the deal
  • Landlord (rental)
  • Tenant (rental)
  • Referral
  • Broker Price Opinion

Dual deals, dual agency deals, or double-ended deals refer to when an agent represents both the buyer and the seller in the same transaction.

How to create dual deals

You can only dual a deal after it has been created. To create a dual deal:

    1. Edit an existing deal
    2. Scroll down to the Transaction card and click Dual as shown below

      If you made any changes to your deal, you will be asked to save the deal before the dual deal is created

    3. This will show you the following pop-up

    4. You can either
      • Create a new deal
        1. Click Continue

        2. This creates a new deal with the same:
          1. Name
          2. Address
          3. Sale Price
          4. Closing Date
          5. Commission
          6. Agent
        3. The deal type of the newly created deal is the opposite

        4. The type field is disabled
      • Select an existing deal
          1. Enter the name/address of the deal you want to link to

          2. Select the deal from the search results. You can only select deals with the opposite deal type in the search results, the others are greyed out
          3. Click Continue

Note: You can only dual Buyer(sale), Listing (sale), Tenant(rental), and Landlord(rental) deal types. 

Viewing dual deals

  • All dual deals on the deal board have a chain icon

  • Dual deals are represented as two different deals in Zipi so Zipi knows they both have different commission processing

Once you have created a dual deal you can view it through:

Clicking the chain icon on the All Deals board

  1. Click the chain icon on the All Deals board

  2. This redirects you to the other deal

Dual button on the edit deal page

  1. Click the Dual button on the edit deal page

  2. This redirects you to the other deal

Dual Agency button on the view deal page

  1. Click the Dual Agency button on the view deal page

Dual deals and payouts

You will have a listing and buying side under Payouts for dual deals

Dual deals have two disbursement PDFs.

  1. The disbursement for both the deals
  2. The disbursement for the deal itself

The Dual Deal Disbursement shows the parties from both sides of the deal along with their share. If an agents is on both sides of the deal, they are only mentioned once.

Unlinking dual deals

  1. Edit an existing deal
  2. Scroll down to the Transaction card and hover over Dual as shown below

  3. Click the X
  4. Once you do that, you will no longer see the chain icon next to the deals on the deal board.

Deleting dual deals

When deleting dual deals, you can either delete the deal itself or delete both deals.

  1. Edit the deal you want to delete
  2. Scroll down and click Delete

  3. You have the option to delete both sides of the deal, or the side you're viewing
